The Quesada family has been in the tobacco industry for over 100 years, starting as bakers in Cuba before moving into tobacco in the late 1800s. In 1929 they arrived in the Dominican Republic to find new tobaccos and eventually established a new company, MATASA, in Santiago in 1974. Today, the company is run by the fifth generation of the family with over 300 employees and a focus on producing premium cigars.
